Ivory Coast aims to be the digital hub of West Africa

After Addis Ababa, Dakar, Bamako, Tunis and Rabat, the Ivorian capital has been given an Orange Digital Center. Indeed, Abidjan has become the 6th African capital which houses this digital center of the Orange Group.

"The center will help make Côte d'Ivoire a digital hub in the sub-region,"announced Ivorian head of government Patrick Achi.

The CEO of thegroup Orange, Stéphane Richard, alongside the Ivorian Prime Minister Patrick Achi, launched on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. This training program that the group intends to implement in all the countries where it operates, is part of the as part of the action five-year plan '' Engage 2025 '' from Orange, which aims to "promote digital equality".

"With the objective of training 2,000 young people by the end of 2022, and creating several hundred jobs, this digital center will fully participate in the development of Ivorian human capital by allowing everyone to train and innovate on networks or boost your start-up"indicated Patrick Achi.

Orange Digital Center Côte d'Ivoire is part of the network of 32 Orange Digital Centers, 18 of which will be deployed in Africa and the Middle East. The objective of Orange Africa and the Middle East according to its CEO, Alioune Ndiaye, is to democratize access to digital.

The program targets students, project leaders, unemployed people, school dropouts and young graduates, with the aim of helping everyone to develop digital know-how according to their needs.

The Ivory Coast center has a digital manufacturing workshop called Fablab solidaire; a start-up accelerator called Orange Fab, a coding workshop (Orange Digital Academy); and an investment fund called Orange Ventures Africa.

Note that theOrange Digital Center Cameroon was inaugurated in the same week by the CEO of the Orange group, Stéphane Richard.
