Covid-19 Tests: Ghana Deploys First Digital Verification System in West Africa

Ghana has become the first country in West Africa to deploy a digital verification system for the results of Covid-19 PCR tests based on the Trusted Travel standard of the African Union and ECOWAS.

The Ministry of Health, through the Ghana Health Service, has led the project which aims to make it easier for travelers to verify Covid-19 test results.

The technology platform, which is jointly powered by the Ghana Health Service and the PanaBIOS Consortium, covers all licensed Covid-19 PCR test labs in the country and will be of great help in the fight against the circulation of false test results. tests.

"All travelers, airlines and diplomatic missions, port health, Covid-19 testing laboratories and all other relevant stakeholders in Ghana are advised that only test results or certificates bearing the Trusted Travel codes or BIOMARS will be considered valid for travel outside Ghana from April 21, 2021 "said Minister of Health Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.
